What does made-to-measure actually mean here?

We measure your opening — top, bottom, and the lean of each side — and the gate is built to those numbers. It is not a standard gate trimmed down; the frame is proportioned for the final size.

Can you follow a sloping wall or path?

Yes — sloped heads and stepped bottoms are a normal request on older properties, and they are exactly what off-the-shelf cannot do.

Softwood or hardwood?

Pressure-treated softwood does the job for most gates and takes stain well. Hardwood (typically oak or iroko) is for statement entrances and budgets to match — happy to quote both.

Can you copy a gate I have seen?

Usually — bring a photo. If it is a sound design we will build it to your sizes; if the design is why that gate failed, we will say so.

How long does a made-to-measure gate take?

Measure to fitted is typically two weeks; pairs and hardwood a little longer. You get a date when you order.
