Can you fit gates on a sloping drive?

Yes — slopes are the rule, not the exception. Depending on the fall we use rising hinges or set the gates to clear the high point, and we will talk you through the trade-offs at survey.

Will the gates sag over time?

A properly braced gate on adjustable hinges should not. The diagonal brace carries the weight to the hinge side, and the band-and-hook hinges we use can be adjusted if anything ever settles.

Can I have one big gate instead of a pair?

Above about 1.2m wide a single leaf puts a lot of leverage on one post, so pairs are usually the better answer for drives. Where a single makes sense we build the post and hinge spec up to suit.

Do you do gates to match a front fence?

Yes — pair and fence in the same board style and height is a common job, and it is where made-to-measure really shows against off-the-shelf.

How long does fitting take?

Most driveway pairs go in within a day, including breaking out old posts and setting new ones.
