Most gates are fitted by whoever happens to be doing the fence, the drive, or the extension — which is why so many drag, sag, and never quite latch. We went the other way: gates and the fencing around them are the whole business.
That focus shows up in the details. Openings measured top and bottom because walls lean. Frames ledged and braced because gravity does not take days off. Posts sized to the leaf and set in concrete because a gate is only as good as what it hangs on. Furniture chosen for the use — a hunting latch on a paddock, a long-throw lock on a side passage — and fitted as part of the price.
