How does quoting work?
Send rough sizes and a photo of the opening by phone, WhatsApp or the form. Most jobs get a fixed written figure from that; anything unusual gets a free survey visit first. The figure quoted is the figure invoiced.
How much does a gate cost?
Simple garden and side gates start from £200 supplied and fitted. Driveway pairs, field gates and bespoke builds cost more — the price depends on size, board style and posts, and every job gets a fixed written figure before we start.
Are the gates really made to measure?
Yes. The gate is built to your opening's measurements — top width, bottom width, and the lean of each side — not trimmed down from a standard size. That is why it fits.
What timber do you use?
Pressure-treated softwood as standard, protected against rot from day one, ready to stain or left to weather silver. Hardwood builds (oak, iroko) are available by arrangement.
Do you fit gates people have bought elsewhere?
Yes — the fitting-only service hangs your gate on the right fixings, supplies furniture if it came bare, and tells you honestly beforehand if the gate will not work in the opening.
Do you repair gates?
Yes. Dropped leaves, rotten posts, sheared hinges and missing braces are most of the repair round — usually a fraction of replacement cost, with a straight verdict when a gate is past saving.
What areas do you cover?
Loughborough and all of Charnwood: Shepshed, Quorn, Barrow upon Soar, Sileby, Mountsorrel, Rothley, Anstey, Birstall, Syston, and the villages between. No call-out premium inside the patch.
How long from order to fitted gate?
Made-to-measure builds are typically one to two weeks from survey; repairs and fitting-only usually within the week. You get a date when you book, and we keep it.
Do you take the old gate away?
Yes — old gates and broken posts leave on our van as part of every job.
Are you insured?
Yes — public liability insurance is in place, and paperwork is available on request for schools, commercial sites and letting agents.
Timber or metal — which should I pick?
Timber suits most homes and can be altered later; galvanised metal wins for schools, parks, secure yards and zero maintenance. Send a photo and you will get a straight recommendation.
